What this means
One or more backup jobs reference a Saved Location that Xackup cannot find. Saved Locations are named destination entries you define in Settings (for example: a network share, local folder, or remote path). Jobs link to those Saved Locations instead of repeating the same path and credentials across multiple jobs.
If a job points to a Saved Location that is missing or the automatic migration did not convert older settings correctly, the job cannot run and you will see this error.
Quick resolution
- Open Xackup → Settings → Saved Locations.
- Check if the required Saved Location is present:
- If it exists, note its Display Name or Root Path.
- If it does not exist, add a new Saved Location with the same Root Path and credentials the job should use.
- Edit the Backup job that raised the error:
- Open the job, go to the destination/location tab, and choose the correct Saved Location from the list (do not paste or type the path manually).
- Save the job.
- Run the job or re-run the update to confirm the error is gone.
Test the Saved Location
From Settings → Saved Locations (or the job destination panel), use the Test or Check Path action to verify the path and credentials. The test will report success or a descriptive error message.
Special cases
- If the job uses Snapshots only mode, it may not require a Saved Location—verify the job's Snapshot option.
- If a Saved Location exists but the job still fails, the job may reference an outdated SavedLocation ID. To fix this, edit the job and re-select the Saved Location from the list, then save the job.
Prevent this in the future
- Keep Saved Locations up to date and avoid editing job destination paths manually when a Saved Location should be used.
- When removing a Saved Location, check job usage first—the UI shows usage counts and prevents removal if it is in use.
What to provide to support
